Description
The Senior Interior Designer / Space planner will develop designs specifications and prepare construction documents for interior scopes of work of government military and commercial aviation facilities. This position serves in a leadership role and drives interior design programming design and furniture strategies. The Interior Designer / Space Planner works directly with the client manages and mentors junior staff and assists with integrating interior design concepts with architectural and engineering systems.
- Lead designer for interior design of government military and commercial aviation projects.
- Lead a team of junior interior design staff in the development and execution of projects.
- Work within a project team of architects and engineers meeting with clients to assess needs and develop space programs for projects.
- Assist with the marketing efforts in pursuing architectural / interior design work.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in interior design interior architecture or related degree from an accredited program.
- Minimum 8 years of related interior design interior architecture experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of architectural principles and theory associated with project design and construction document production
- Demonstrated knowledge of Interior Design specifications calculations industry standards as well as visual written and oral skills
- A National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ Certification) is required.
- Strong programming design space planning construction documentation and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Current understanding and application of commercial furniture systems.
- Experience in Revit required.
- Experience in 3-D visualization software such as Enscape and/or Lumin is preferred.
- Experience with government and military design standards is preferred.
