Aligned around a shared purpose our $3.9B company and 16000 people work alongside our clients here and abroad to tackle their most complex challenges with integrity respect responsibility and professionalism.ResponsibilitiesAircraft Mechanic II (SMM) personnel shall perform a full range of aircraft sheet metal duties including but not limited to disassemble modify repair and reassemble complex aircraft metal items and systems e.g. bulkheads airframes spars air scoops wings flaps pylons sponsons fuselages skins ribs gussets and fuel tanks. These items and systems have combined straight and curved edges and irregular curves and planes. A Sheet Metal Mechanic personnel shall analyze and evaluate structural damage to metal systems and items; develop patterns using a combination of parallel and radial line development; fabricate install and repair a variety of items and systems made from a wide variety of metals e.g. stainless steel copper sheet magnesium honeycomb alloys aluminum; replace sections and patch old systems; cut bend shape and form metals for items that have numerous irregular angles planes and curves with varying pitch and circumference; use a variety of assembly joints complex fastening systems riveted or welded joints drill or punch holes; and assemble or repair items by seaming soldering bolting screwing riveting tacking and spot welding. Assembly methods shall meet appearance and strength standards as well as critical tolerances. As a condition of employment Contractor personnel will be required to pass a FRCSW administered certification skills examination. Contractor personnel shall use precision measuring instruments such as calipers protractors snap ring height depth dial and screw pitch gauges squares rulers trammel points and sine bars. #LI-MR1+ Perform Depot Level Maintenance on V-22 aircraft metal and composite parts.+ Must be able to perform all duties associated with the Depot Level repair of V-22 aircraft components to include propeller repair.+ Maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate to complex difficulty including but not limited to flight controls engines hydraulics pneumatic fuel systems and mechanical components.+ Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and discrepancies.+ Applies required expertise in restoring aircraft component condition and or operation+ Applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints sketches drawings specifications Local Engineering Instructions and work orders in manufacturing aircraft sheet metal structures.+ Manufactures and installs new parts and reinforcing patching and replacing defective parts applies accurate riveting techniques for proper spacing fit durability structural soundness and appearance.Administrative Duties:+ Maintain qualifications in Advance Skills Management attend or complete online mandatory training+ Assist in maintaining NAMP Programs follows Ground Operating Procedures and ensure comply with established safety procedures.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications+ Education/Experience:+ High School Diploma or equivalent+ Minimum experience or military experience as an aircraft sheet metal mechanic.+ Other Requirements:+ Security Clearance+ U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data system+ Must be a US Citizen+ Must be able to pass a NACI which could include a credit check.+ We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post offer pre-employment substance abuse testing.Skills and Technology Used+ Analytical Thinking and Problem Solving:+ Possesses both analytical and interpersonal skills.+ Good problem solving negotiation and organizational skills/techniques.+ Working knowledge with computer+ Working knowledge with Advance Skill Management (ASM) or willing to learn the functions.+ To be able to perform research a working knowledge with the following is preferred: electronic publications like Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) knowledge in navigating NATEC website to access Technical Publications service bulletins technical publications blueprints IPB (Illustrated Parts Breakdown) MIM (Maintenance Instruction) LES (Local Engineering Specifications) LPS (Local Process Specifications) and TEI (Temporary Engineering Instructions).+ Business Partner/Effective Communicator:+ English language skills to communicate with costumers.+ Strong communicator must be able to communicate clearly both in writing and orally.+ Ability to train others.+ Customer service oriented detail focused pro-active behavior multi-task capability.+ Software:+ Microsoft Office Suite+ Excel+ Outlook+ SharePoint+ Personal computer printer copy machine and other general office equipment.What We Bring+ At V2X we strive to be market competitive in our total reward offerings.+ The successful candidate s starting pay will be based on the current rate agreed in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for this site.+ The following salary range is intended to display the current per hour rate for this job.+ USD $88000 - $90000.+ Please speak with a recruiter for additional information.+ Employee benefits include the following:+ Healthcare coverage+ Life insurance AD&D and disability benefits+ Retirement plan+ Wellness programs+ Paid time off including holidays.+ Learning and Development resources+ Employee assistance resourcesPay and benefits are subject to change at any time and may be modified at the discretion of the company consistent with the terms of any applicable compensation or benefit plans.We are committed to an inclusive and diverse workplace that values and supports the contributions of each individual.
