Description

Overview of the Position:

Creates the master travelers (writers) and reviews other masters for completeness and accuracy. Assists Quality Manager and Lead on day to day processes. Responsible for training Inspectors for receiving processes. Receive parts from clients and other material from suppliers and inspect for damage. Prepare repair documents utilizing our computer software and required procedures(s). Become competent in the use of measuring devices and hand tools. familiar with. Maintain specifications and manuals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Log in inspect and analyze parts that are shipped/mailed in from other companies or clients for service.
  • Prepare or create a new traveler based on customer PO requirements for parts that have not been received for work before at ACI. Review revised or updated exiting repair instructions and generate a new repair (Traveler) for parts that have previous input record to meet current PO requirement.
  • Perform Self-evaluation process on part numbers that either have not been received for a period of 36 months or longer or part numbers that ACI has not received before. This is to ensure that ACI is capable of meeting the customer requirement when repairing the part.
  • Contact customer for information etc.
  • Work at a computer console entering parts. Become familiar with computer software system (Pentagon).
  • Be able to use measuring tools e.g. calipers micrometers etc.
  • At times using a power hand tool to mark parts.
  • Use chemical cleaners on parts.
  • Occasionally sandblast parts


Other Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to understand work instructions in CMM and other approved data such as blue prints and engineering instructions. Also have working knowledge of the commonly used specifications. Ability to accurately extract relevant information from approved technical data to meet customer requirements
  • Prior work experience in any operations related process such as machining electroplating receiving or shipping is preferred.
  • Must be capable of reading blueprints.
  • Must read and write the English language.
  • Should have basic computer software and keyboarding skills.


Education / Experience Requirements:
  • Must have H.S. diploma or GED. College degree preferred.
  • Must have 3 months to 2 years ACI experience or related outside experience.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest commissions proportions percentages area circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.

  • Is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop kneel crouch and crawl; and lift up to 80 pounds.

  • Move (using a hand truck or fork lift) boxes up to several hundred pounds (always get help).
